Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using any Variforum website (variforum.org, variforum.info, variforum.com, variforum.net, variforum.cloud) or services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Service

Variforum is an experimental epistemic infrastructure project. The Services include websites, applications, APIs, and related tools for exploring concepts around weighted consensus, temporal decay, and human-verified information systems.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent.

4. Account Registration

Some features require an account. When you create an account:

• You must provide accurate, current information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Distribute malware, spam, or malicious content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services
• Use automated means to access the Services without permission
• Circumvent security features or access controls
• Use the Services for any illegal purpose

6. User Content

Your content: You retain ownership of content you create ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Variforum a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating the Services.

Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have all necessary rights to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or any third party's rights.

Our rights: We may remove or disable access to any User Content that violates these Terms, without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The Services and their original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Variforum LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The K₀(z) framework documentation is provided for informational purposes. No license is granted to use Variforum trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Services

The Services integrate with third-party services (Google Sign-In, OpenRouter AI, etc.). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Results obtained from the Services will be accurate or reliable
• Any defects will be corrected
• The Services will meet your requirements

The K₀(z) framework is experimental and has not been independently audited or validated. Do not rely on it for decisions affecting health, safety, finances, or legal matters.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VARIFORUM LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Variforum LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Services or email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.

15. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may proceed with formal proceedings.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Variforum LLC regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements.
